Negative Space in Photography

Hi guys,

Few of our amateur photog friends had concerns about composition and the right proportions in photographs. Well there are a few written rules and few that you need to break.

Without getting too deep into the subject one should be aware of the rule of thirds. Read the article that deals with the subject in simple analogies.
When looking at an image you will be able to differentiate the "negative space" vs "positive space". Generally the negative space refers to the space around you subject and positive space is your subject. These spaces are always intertwined and need to compliment each other. Compose your images with a focus in mind. See what you are trying to say with the picture and what your audience should focus on. Sometimes having a simple image with less distraction is much more effective than cramming an image full of focal points that can't convey the message. Find a focus in your image where you want the eye to wander, and allow the negative space to aid.

Below are two images of Niki to demonstrate that negative space can be very helpful in bringing ones attention to the subject no matter how small it is or wether it follows the rule of thirds. Hope that helps a little, and I strongly encourage you to practise, practise, practise. So before you take your point and shoot or dslrs out, give it a thought of what it is that you are trying to say by the image, compose your shot, look for a focal point, and snap away.

Fire & Ice Engagement Session

We love themed engagement Shoots. Speaking with Matt and Karen, it wasn't long before we figured out exactly what they were looking for. Matus, an avid hockey player and Karen's form in figure skating merged the perfect place to start. On ICE of course. It was really cold but both Karen and Matt were great sports, and kept warm cuddling and posing for us. Of course we would have to balance the ying with a yang and off we were to a local firehall that Matt has prearanged for us. How exciting. Not only did we end up shooting, we also witnessed a real life fire alarm where the boys suited up and off they went. This blog post was to be a sneak peek, but I admit, we have problems choosing 2-3 of our best, so here is more like 16-18 and more to come. Cheers you two, we are thrilled to be part of your special day!

Beautiful Port Credit at brink of Spring? Hmm, not sure but It was just an incredible sunny day, melting icicles and frozen lake water washed up on the breakwater rocks. I didn't want to miss it, since I had no chance to document the shore line this winter. Even Niki was extatic about the Vitamin D she was getting.

Wow, that was fast and sweet!

I mean the "work-liday". We are back from an amazing experience and conference that is just a big blur right now. 4 Days of non-stop workshops, classes and trade shows and some partying ;) We became members of the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, which is a great resource for professionals in our industry.
We have met soo many new photographers from all over the world and established new friendships. Its amazing what a conference of this scale can do to your networking, personal lifestyle and effectually better your business practises. We didn't have much time to shoot or venture past the main strip as the schedule was too hectic. We didn't want to miss any classes and opportunities to learn, share and laugh with other like minded photogs. Great times, thanks to all our old friends, new friends and other great photographers that don't even know us, that have affected our business and creative photography alike.
Cheers to another great year in WPPI.

We had alot of inquiry from brides and photographers about our "info boxes"
Instead of a binder and stapled documents, we provide our future Brides with a pretty box. Branded in our colours, having the box glossy white, with our KostelPhoto Green ribbon around it, wrapped are some goodies in a KP green tissue.
To celebrate, we usually pack in a Piccolo bubbly, with some sweet Lindt chocolates. For more ideas and reading pleasure we always include couple of couture wedding magazines to spark up the creative juices. And on top goes the signed contract, getting to know you sheets and our Investment package. This way our Brides stay organized, and are quite ecstatic about their little gift. Its the small things that matter. We also include our preferred vendor information, our own fliers and some business cards for referral. This way our professional referral circle stays busy and Brides tend to trust our opinion about other coutour pros. So here are some images to all that were interested.

Beamer Falls Bed & Breakfast at Falconridge Farm

So here is a post from last summer, in fact right after we got married in May.
We had a week off before our St Lucia honeymoon, so we set out to explore the Bruce Peninsula in the Wine country. From Niagara on the Lake through Jordan, we spent hours of enjoying the scenery, having cappuccinos at the Lakehouse restaurant, strolling the Main Street in NOTHL and shopping in Jordans tranquil little artsy shops. On the way back to Port Credit we made it up the Escarpment one more time for the awesome view, when we accidentally came across this hidden gem. Beamer Falls B&B, Victorian farmhouse nestled amid the Carolinian Forest. It is a peaceful secluded property owned and run by the lovely and ever gracious Ruta and Dave. They gave us a tour of the farmhouse built in 1864 and fully restored in original deco with all modern amenities. Since we love to stay at various B&B's we were really interested to check out the place. It was Fantastic. Really. Each suite is decorated in its own feel encompassing an array of eclectic furniture and art. Exposed wooden beams, original brick, fireplaces...wow. It even has a salt water swimming pool in the back. The farmhouse is big enough to accommodate smaller Weddings! Check out the few pics we snapped. Beat the Blues Party

Hey everyone,

I've been a bad blogger lately :(
It has been really busy around here with consults, bookings and new projects.
We have several blogs to catch up from last year personal and wedding slides too.

So to start off our Blah February, when the weather can't decide if its coming or going (from -25ºC to +8ºC) we decided to have an impromptu Beat the Blah party with fresh Lime Margaritas, Cuban Mohitos and few friends to warm up.
Ton of fun, great food and of course Texas hold'em concluded the evenings with of course yours truly cleaning up. Not sure if it was beginners luck, but definitively a good asset to have for WPPI Las Vegas next week. Looking forward to the biggest conference with lots of classes, nights at Studio 54 in private lounge and of course hitting some tables.

National Bridal Show - Success and lots of Fun!

Good day folks!

Well it was a really busy few weeks preparing for the show and a really "good" busy weekend interacting with Brides, Photographers and other vendors at the venue. We met alot of nice people, which is always great to extend our network, client base and of course friends!

We had past brides show up, brides that we have booked for this year and lots of great brides still looking for the perfect way to document their most special day! So, thank you to all that have stopped by to say hello, inquire about our availability or just came out to fill out a ballot for eShoot and a complementary Bridal Photo Coaching.

This year we have made a prop (wall with a double relief) that would house our flat screen and add a little warmth to our Studio Lounge feel. However I didn't realize what I was getting into after I put it together, applied all the layers including stucco. The logistics of transportation were more complicated than the actual set up.

We had lots of photographers compliment and ask about the process of building it, so I will just briefly outline the process and attach few images.

I bought 4x8 particle boards, 2x2's, 4x2's and bunch of wood screws.

I drew out the plan, measured our LCD and got to it.

The wall is built in three pieces, the main being 5 feet wide and side walls 2.5ft in order to fit the 10x10 booth.
For the finish, we were thinking of just painting it, but love the stucco texture so we decided to go that route.
First you need to apply a mesh in order for the cement to stick. This is the undercoating that Stucco adheres to.
Now we applied Stucco, and floated to give it a really cool Venetian finish.
Finally we have added the mouldings on the top and baseboards on the bottom of the walls to give it Studio-ish feel. Painted the boarders and mouldings and attached trims for the LCD.

We have also bought Click floor that was a "snap" to put together and lay it down before we assembled the walls. Furniture was mostly from our Studio.

The Perfect Wedding Show - Living Arts Centre Mississauga

Hey everyone,

So we just finished our first show of the year and had a blast doing it. This is how our set up looked against the red wall of the theatre. Actually we had more space that the booths below us, which was great. The brides that missed us in Mississauga can catch up at the National Bridal Show at the Exhibition place on January 23rd, 24th and 25th. Hello Peeps,

I can't believe its Friday again and I have not blogged for a week. Shame :(
It really has been a hectic week. Trying to fulfill all orders and finish off business from 2008 before the holidays.

Sporadically:
Our Christmas tree is up and glowing. It has a funnly little tree top, but not all trees can be Super Model Trees.
Christmas lights outside are on dusk til dawn along with our sign finally working in sync.
Drain pipe is repaired. If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you would know there were some neighbourhood kids up to no good ;)

STUDIO UPDATE
We are extremely stoked and excited to have our Studio Lounge remodeled by early January. Can't wait to meet our brides in there. Along with our Studio update, we are sprucing our online presence, infact adding a brand NEW WEB SITE dedicated to Weddings and getting a brand new BLOG designed in collaboration with Jesse from amazing MoxyWebWorks. We will be rolling it all out in early January. Keep your fingers crossed ;)

Our Wedding season 2009 and 2010 comes with New Options, New Experiences, New Client Education and New Prices.
As such, if you book us before Dec 31st at 1200hrs we will honour our 2008 prices. (Deposit required to secure your date)

Some of you might already know, my dear blackberry has died. RIP Berry! I was "forced" to get an early christmas gift: A new iPHONE. Yeay I love early gifts. Look what I was missing on. I am now twittering via twitter Become my friend ***HERE*** to see whats up in the micro-blogosphere of KostelPhoto and us generally. In fact the mobile apps, will update my facebook status as well. How cool! NO? And also hang out with us on facebook ***HERE*** I don't think that many people comprehend the importance of such social networking sites. Many will discount them as toys or just waste of time. We on the other hand, think that such marketing tools are incredible and an awesome way to conect with others. Being a photographer and managing a small business is very dependant on networking. I said this many times before and always will believe that network is your networth.

St John Ambulance - Outstanding Community Partner

Wow....

Today, I picked up a mysterious package from St John ambulance. I was going to wait for Anna, but curiousity got better of me after staring at it for full 10 minutes ;)

We are shocked and for-most honoured to be awarded and recognized as Outstanding Community Partner of SJA. As you might recall from a previous post HERE we have donated our time to a charitable event for St John Ambulance last year in a photographic capacity as I also used to volunteer as a Medical First Aid Responder for many years prior. This was our second annual participation in this gala to raise funds for a good cause, and we loved covering it. Thank you to Dianne and her staff, as well as the Board of Directors for putting up such a successful event that raised over $40,000 this year alone. We are humbled. Thank you for having us and giving us the opportunity to be your preferred choice of photographers for your undoubtfully successful Gala next year!

Creativity for posterity

As some of you might know, Anna & I got married this past May 24. I can't believe we have already celebrated our 6 months anniversary. Where does the time go? We had a nice evening with dinner and talked about how we have met, how long we have dated (almost 8yrs) and remembered stories from past. I thought if I had more time, I'd love to write down all the shenanigans I've done in my younger days, because you will never remember all the details and surely forget lots of the stories if not reminded. Especially if they were not caught on film and mostly they were not. We need to supplement our wonderful organ called brain with images that will reignite the emotion or feeling that happened at that instance. Well at least, why not put them down on paper or create a file with short stories that you can always refer to, add on to and re read in winter times. Your children's children will laugh, cry and thank you. I've kept a journal on a one month trip to Malaysian Borneo when I backpacked the rainforest. I have read it recently, and couldn't believe how much I forgot. In fact you can transport yourself back to the time and feel the oceans spray, or the heat exhaustion from trekking in the sun with 80 kg's on your back. Here I am preaching something that I'd love to do more often, but have not got around to it yet. Time is so precious and to spend few minutes here and there is hard to find. But if you set some time to be creative and dig your into your cerebral cortex, you will be surprised at your accomplishment. So if you are not the writing type, at least pick up a point and shoot the next time you are off for a walk, document your journey for posterity.

It was a really fast and unexpected decision, due to some timelines and circumstances. Our studio is getting a facelift. Starting with refinishing the Oak hard wood floors, through new furniture, new Art, and of course a slideshow 46" viewer otherwise known as Tv. We are excited, and working hard to have it done asap. Interim, we appologize to all our Brides and clients for the inconvenience.

Anna's Fong Dong Fumble

So here is the story.
The last wedding we did, "few blogs below" Anna and I were covering the ceremony in a church. Everyone is seated, the priest is ready, Groomsmen and the Groom are waiting with anticipation by the altar and the gentle music of the band and choir readies the occasion for the Cinderella to arrive. She does, accompanied by her father and her mother. It is really quiet at this point and Anna is ready to snap close ups with her 24-70 2.8 few pews from the back and I am waiting by the altar with my "cannon" 70-200 2.8 Few steps right in front of Anna, the procession stops to yield as Anna's diffuser rolls off her flash right in front of them. Not only did it make clink-clank noise, it was a split decision to figure out if she should ignore or pick up. She opted for the latter. It reminded me of the "Fight vs Flight Darwinian evolution theory" At the end, everything was just fine, few smiles and chuckles were heard, but it sure didn't spoil the occasion. I caught the blunder, however soft it is a Fong Dong Fumble we won't forget.

Hey Everyone,

Just to update everyone on a bit of everything.

1. We have just finished a two day Wedding and posted a teaser just below. Check it out and/or sign up ***HERE***

3. Very soon, we are ready to shoot Family and relax portraits for the Holidays. Don't delay as all shoots and orders need to be in by end of November.
4. We are very happy to announce that we will be part of an amazing National Bridal Show, January 23-25th, 2009. The great part is that ALL BRIDES TO BE ARE FREE. I know I'm little early talking about next year, but we are really stoked what next year will offer. I will expand on above info individually in blogs to come. These two love birds have a wonderful story to tell. They met at Museum Subway station where they fell madly and deeply in love. They had, what is considered by some, a long distance romance from Mississauga to Scarborough. It was only appropriate to have their wedding photo's taken in downtown Toronto; on the streets (literally), U of T campus, and Museum Station where their romance first blossomed.
Jayani and Ramesh's wedding party were so much fun and very willing to do the bride and grooms bidding. They had no qualm's dancing in the streets, running into high security buildings, walking through subways, taking escalator's in their Sunday Best outfits, and tossing leaves. All this, for the sake of good photo opportunities, and all because they love Jayani and Ramesh. What amazing friends to have.
With this group, we felt the love. We heard it in the amazing speech's, toast's and we saw it in the amazing decor and surprise dance. So much effort was put into this day, by everyone. We felt honoured to be apart of this amazing couples day and to document it all.
So without further a due, here is Jayani and Ramesh - so in love. Congratulations.

Have you ever smelled Fall? I love that crisp, warm, moist smell of the leaves. In fact, we both love Fall. It's our favourite season. I don't know if its the anticipation to winter and skiing, or just had enough of the summer and heat. (although that is false this year). Its just amazing time to get out into the country should it be camping (no mosquitos and black flies), head out to the cottage, or just a day hike or apple picking. Well, this was our weekend off from the Wedding season and did we lucked out with the amazing weather. Here is few to many shots to show you what I mean ;)

May we introduce a couple that is totally into each other, adventurous, fun, animated and not to mention photogenic. Christine and Matthew met in an Irish Pub called Failtes here is Mississauga and since have been inseparable. Naturally our e-shoot had to commence there as it was a sentimental place. Original shoot was to take place in Bronte park with Matthew's orange Mustang, but the weather was on the fences and we opted out. Infact the sun came out and we had a great shoot in Toronto downtown. Matt is a great car buff and a racer, so I know we have some amazing automobile backdrops and burnouts in plans to come :) Christine, we loved your enthusiasm and an infectious smile. You both were awesome sports and did anything we wanted. Jumping, running, clearing water features, climbing... yes anything for a creative shot. Thank You! We certainly are looking forward to the big day next year. Interim, have fun, relax and enjoy your Wedding preps.

What an amazing couple Suzanne and Mark. I don't think I have met a more enthusiastic bride to be before. If you were her friend on Facebook, you'd know that she has been doing a countdown for quite a while. It was a constant reminder that the Big Day is coming and in anticipation to that she really got us energized and excited. Well the day was just beaaaautiful. One could not ordered a better fall day. Sunny, warm....juuust perfect. As Mark's heritage is from the Scotland, the attire was a full blown kilt. The boys looked really sharp, but always unparalleled to the Bride and Bridesmaids and the lovely bouquets. This past sunday, we had the opportunity to photography a warm and loving family. Cathy contacted us since her husband Steve and the family loved the idea of having a family portrait shoot, right in their very own backyard. Cathy even sent us a few pictures of her backyard in advance, to make sure it would be a suitable location. In fact it was great. No better place to be more comfortable than in your own surroundings. Cathy and Steve improved the backyard this summer, and we could tell they put so much love and effort into it. They relocating the coy pond, added an awesome raised patio, included an inflatable playground (every kids dream!) and to top it off, even installed a little putting green around the corner of their home. How amazing is that. We hadn't met the Murray's before, but literally in a few minutes the kids, dog and adult's all got acquainted and comfortable, and it showed in front of the camera's. She is a great 1974, full double fiberglass hull, 23' fully ready to set sails on the gorgeous waters of Lake Ontario (or anywhere else as she loves to be trailered around) She is currently in her slip in Port Credit Marina for immediate test sails. Please check our beauty and pass on the word should you know anyone who would love an awesome 2-4 person boat with background in sailing. Her berth will even sleep four.

I know, I know.... its hard for me to call this blog post by the real name ie: CYST (Craft your Success Tour), as it wasn't that successful at all. We were all looking forward hearing and meeting DJ, but unfortunately due to logistics that didn't happened. David Jay is an amazing young entrepreneur, photographer and just a normal down to earth, humble guy. I had a chance to meet up with DJ late in the evening before he flew back to Santa Barbara today. We chatted abit and took some pics. As DJ is an avid mixed martial arts fan, me having a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and Bobby Earls skill and talent shown here and Mike Colon picking it up, we thought how much fun would it be to get all of us Wedding Photographers in a ring the next WPPI. Wouldn't that be awesome, huh? We could grapple each other or for a good cause? Anyways, it was amazing meeting you DJ, hope you enjoyed the home baked goodies from Anna and sip on some Becherovka to wash down the bitter taste. Hope you come back to Toronto again as I know there is an amazing number of us who would love to hear you speak.

Moni you were beautiful. Adam...not so shabby too. Thanks for having us. It was a blast to see everyone together again. For those who don't know, most of the guests our age used to belong to a folk dance group TSD (Toronto Slovak Dancers), but that is another post. So we all know each other for a reaallly long time. To hear the speeches, see everyone laugh, cry and dance the night away is unforgettable. Most of us are already married, but the tradition of the "Hat Dance" continues at each wedding. How awesome is that huh? The venue at Royal Ambassador was just incredible, check out the decor below. I can't wait to see pictures from Justin Demers, the official photographer. How much fun did we have? Although a second attempt due to mother natures mood swings, she was very graceous and blessed us with an amazing evening light. What an incredible wedding!
Set in a beautiful Bruce Peninsula at a BnB so secluded only the locals know about, ceremony at the Cabot Head lighthouse overlooking Georgean Bay, Outdoors reception under the tent with local wildflower decor and fresh catch of White fish served for dinner. What more can you ask for you ask? A sunny day would be nice.
As we left early Saturday for a 4 hour drive, we left Toronto in the most Beaaaaauuutiful sunshine you can ask for. It wasn't too long before the clouds rolled in and for the next 3 hours we were in and out of storms, rain, clouds, tornadoes.....et al. Yup I said tornadoes. Not one but 2!!! I was admiring the awesome cloud formation before I had a chance to mention that I felt like a storm chaser, there it was, to our right a funnel touched down not more than 5km's. We had to pull over and snap some pics of course.
So we reached our destination in a downpour. However, decision was made. Krista and Donald were to wed outside at the lighthouse as everything was already set. Well shortly after the rain did subside and we had an amazing ceremony with a little sunshine to follow. As Anna-Maria and I were busy snapping the vows, not far off the shore, some guests spotted another formation of a water spout. Incredible as it is quite uncommon for the geography.

Krista and Donald are very down to earth, nature loving, outdoorsy, fun couple. They had the best luck not once but twice that day. As we drove back to the reception, the clouds opened once more and blessed us with another torrential downpour. This time we were safe in the tent. I tell you, what luck that was. This was further followed by a beatiful sunshine and the most incredible rainbow.

Festivities proceeded and everyone enjoyed the amazing food, great company and heartfelt speeches. When Krista and Donald thanked everyone who helped to make their special day and we were mentioned, it was an honour to be present. Thanks guys for having us to share your special day.

What a great wedding. Thanks guys for letting us be part of your special day! Shannon and Scott looked spectacular. Infact, Scott had a matching ivory tux, which was just classy. The weather was somewhat iffy, hazy and hot hot hot. After we finished shooting at Shannon's parents we had a downpour and the sun came out for abit. However there is always good in the not so good. The overcast clouds acted like a huge diffuser and gave us some wicked light. The ceremony and reception was held at Rattle Snake Point Golf Club. Gorgeous setting with all the greenery. We loved all the details that Shannon put together with the help of Debie from Mississauga Florist, Wedding coordinators Susan Angel and Kristine from Rattle Snake Golf Course and decor from I Do Weddings & Decor by Michelle. Great work everyone, it sure turned out beautiful. Please enjoy few images from the event.

In fact I had my windows down and heard these guys reef out some serious tunes. So I pitched in to their hat for few photos. I was always interested in behavioural science and social interaction. Most people will pass these guys in terror, but there is always a story under all the fasades. I noticed the sign afterwards, and everyone can assume their own, but these guys were humble, down to earth, having some fun and making a buck.

SARAH & DAVE - JADE MOUNTAIN

I know this is a little delayed post, but I didn't want anyone not to see a very traditional and conservative Wedding at Jade Mountain in St. Lucia. Sarah looked beautiful in a very classical lace and Daves blue and red resonated with tropical feel and sunshine fun. The ceremony was on a rooftop of the hotel, overlooking Grandeous Piton Mountains and a sun that was setting soo fast. Can you believe the sun sets at 6pm. So photography must be timed perfectly to capture the essence of the moment. Hats off to Bernd, who is the resident Wedding Photographer. The evening was just amazing. Calm warm, you could feel a sligth breeze and smell the ocean, very romantic indeed. Without a further adue, Congratulations Sarah and Dave.

This hotel is built into a mountain and has a futuristic feel of architecture from Star Wars.

This treo, serenated Sarah and Dave the whole evening. They were amazing.

The kids were just adorable. The best behaved ring bearer I've seen in a long time.

Justice of the peace, in such a comfy and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone had a blast.

So we had an amazing weather for our two day e-shoot over the weekend. Serena and Chris are thrilled to get married down in Trinidad this summer. First part was a casual shoot in Oakville by the lake. You can't go wrong choosing the lake. Its amazing to have such a water body in our backyards. The greens and blues are spectacular in the afternoons. The second. For the backdrop they have chosen the classic red brick of Distillery District. Here is a not so small preview. So many nice images to choose from...

Hey everyone, happy Friday.

I am doing well post-op, on crutches but progressively getting better. I had a tear in my meniscus from chronic overuse (jiu jitsu and descending Mt Kinabalu in Malaysia) Due to persistent pain, I decided to have it fixed. A quick arthroscopic procedure with few stitches inside and three little holes on the knee should fix me right up.

We have an e-Shoot for Chris and Serena this weekend, so I hope I can hop along the two love birds. I can't wait for your wedding in Trinidad this August. It will be awesome. Our third destination wedding in first year. Not bad huh?

Lisa has stopped by today to discuss her special day also in August and showed me her invitation and reply cards. To my astonishment they were made from her engagement shoot that we did last year. How cool is that? Looking forward to your Wedding as well... so exciting.

Shannon and Scott.... you guys are next. No pannic, just enjoy the moment, Shannon will be beautiful. Scott you saw her up do few posts below. WOW! I have sent you this black and white torso shot we talked about.

HAPPY 141st CANADA

Happy somewhat modified long weekend to everyone. For those of you not from Canada, July 1st fell on Tuesday and for most people the long weekend got fragmented. Work on Monday and celebrate/rest on Tuesday. In any case it was a wonderful day, sunny and warm full of happy people walking the streets of Port Credit and enjoying the festivities of Painting the Town Red. We biked the lakeshore all the way to Etobicoke and back.

To top it off, at 10pm Anna-Maria yells for me to get off the MAC "cause you know I am always doing some post production" to come and enjoy fireworks right from our back yard. It was amazing, sitting on our Muskoka chairs, clutching late coffee and remeniscing the days we drove in traffic to fight over a parking spot and be taken by current of masses to enjoy fireworks.

So Happy Birthday Canada, and to many many more!

Jen & Paul in St Lucia

It has been alittle hiatus in our blogosphere as we are normalizing post nuptials.
As noted in the previous posts, we had the pleasure to document Jen and Pauls wedding in St Lucia, in the magnificent resort of Anse Chastenet. The day was beautiful, the bride radiant and ceremony on the beach.... spectacular. It is such a polar opposite to get married away from the bustle of the metropolitans. Incredibly peaceful, romantic.... why don't I set the scene for you.

The groom is waiting under the trellis of gorgeous flowers, on a beach secluded from the resort by a short boat ride. Its a sunny afternoon with a breeze coming from the ocean. Jen arrives on a boat and the steel band plays a gentle melody in the background. Everyone awaits with anticipation as the bride is helped off the boat and Paul for the first time steals a glance at his lovely soon to be. I will leave the rest of the story to be told by the slideshow. All the best Jen and Paul, you guys were amazing. I hope we can meet at Anse Mamin beach in few years to shoot your anniversary ;)

Well, we are back to life and reality of being married, looking forward to our wicked future as a couple, starting a wedding season and looking forward to it. We had an amazing honeymoon in St Lucia, shot two weddings amongst other amazing things. I have so much to blog about, but I have to take one step at a time.

Hey, its us again, Loving and enjoying our stay at Anse Chastanet. Peter, the head honcho arranged for me to second shoot an awesome roof top patio sunset wedding at Jade Mountain. How spectacular! Again the view of the Pitons, Ocean and romance ooozing from every corner. A local band called the Harmony Trio, serenaded us during the ceremony. I shot over 11Gb of Raw footage in 2 hrs and although I can't post produce them currently, here are some images straight out of the camera. Will post more at home. Sarah & Dave, you guys were so Elegant and Classy. As promised, the pics will be in your private gallery soon.

Hey everyone,

Real quickly few pictures from around the resort. The awesome view of Piton mountains, beach from atop and a Treehouse restaurant where we dine.
I just finished my first dive around the coral reef and in fifteen minutes I am off to a "Superman's Flight" dive which I blogged about previously.
Later on, I will be second shooting a beautiful Wedding for a local bride at the Jade Mountain. Call that multitasking, our own honeymoon and a wedding shoot. We are looking forward to it. Will share with you guys more later.

Hey Everyone,

We have good news and bad news. The bad news is that we are not coming back but the good news is that we want you all to come and visit us.

We are staying at one of the most romantic destinations in St. Lucia - Anes Chasenet. We are located in the city of Soufriere, with the famous Piton mountains in the background. Our room view is amazing. We have a wrap around porch with a view of the ocean as well as the Pitons. We have the doors wide open, and the birds love to come in and visit us.

The location is prime. Activities include, relaxing, lounging, eating, pampering, spoiling, being massaged...et al. No, really we have a packed week of scuba diving, sea kayaking, mountain biking, and of course photographing the crazy scenery.

I'd love to post some pics, however I forgot my cable at home and can't transfer the images. So you will have to wait for a slideshow in a week. I promise it will be amazing.

This might sound like a sales pitch for the resort, but really this is something you will not experience in any other resort. The resort has no tv, no radio, no phones, no airconditioning.... however it is full of culture, old world feel, set in a treetop rainforest, amazing staff, amazing beaches and a cusine of fine dining that your palate will thank you for. PS Every bill costs us $400 US. Thank God we have all inclusive.

Our Wedding

Hey everyone,

Where do we begin.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

We would like to thank everyone for their best wishes and their support in helping us to tie the knot!

I know its been a while since our last post, but you know how it can be, especially before your own wedding. We are so amped being married... It really does feel somewhat different although our lives will not change dramatically. I keep twisting my ring and Anna keeps referring to me in the stores as her fiance. I am sure its just matter of time to "acclimatize".

As you might know, we have visitors from Slovakia and as such we chose to post pone our Honey moon until tomorrow, and spend some quality time together. In one week we have managed to shop, shop and shop.... go to Pioneer Village Black Creek, Playdium, Wonderland, Bowling, Niagara on the lake via the Wine Route, Niagara Falls, Quinte village of Jordan, a shout out to our friends from SP Photography, Double Decker tour of Toronto, a boat ride around the Centre Island to view the picturesque skyline of Toronto and finally design a tour around Northern Ontario that will be absolved without us. Phew.... and all that in one week. So much fun, so many pics which I will post after St Lucia. Ohh, I guess I didn't mention our Honey Moon destination. Yup, St Lucia right at the foot of the Python Mountains. Although our room will only have three walls, they are renown for the best food in Carib., Awesome diving which I can't wait for as well tropical rainforests. If we have any access from the abode, we will keep you guys posted.

Our own Wedding was a blast, and we are still taking in all the comments, compliments, jokes and other emotions that people are sharing with us. It was amazing. So thank you everyone for your kind words, beautiful wishes, awesome gifts and attendance. We really appreaciate everything and we feel truly blessed to be surrounded by such great families and friends. Thank you everyone!

We have soooo many awesome images from our Special Day, it will take us a little to get through all of them and post our fav's. Interim I will echo Steve and Heidi from aim2please pics that were posted on Facebook . Also our friend Virgil of CreativeVisions.ca who will soon send us his great work.
